Uhuh. Exactly the reason I've never liked the idea of cases.

The "cases can cause issues" thing isn't restricted to the iPhone 4, but
it does point out that the "just get a case and move on" isn't always as
perfect a solution to the 4's death spot as some people imply.

I have an iPhone 4 but haven't yet ordered my case. Since there's a choice,
which case do people recommend for minimum hassle when connecting headphones,
cradles, and such?

I take the reverse view and won't buy any iPhone accessory that I
can't use without having to remove the phone from its case.

I've got a CaseMate case on my 3GS and it'd only have issues if I had a
dock, which I don't. Headphones & charging leads (both Apples and
aftermarket for the car/office) fit fine without touching the case.

As Woody says it's also more likely to stay where put when on/in the
sofa/car etc etc. It also bounces better when dropped on concrete.

I saw "get a bumper and move on" comments on the day this was first
reported...

It is. If RIM or Nokia or HTC had released a phone with the exact same
design, there wouldn't have been anywhere near as much attention paid to
it. Apple seems constantly more newsworthy, whether beleaguered or
wildly successful.
