Hi,

Here is the situation-
Solaris 10u6
ZFS filesystem mounted RW in the global zone, LOFS mounted RO into
Zone A, LOFS mounted RW into Zone B

In Zone B, I'm trying to checkout a project with ~5000 files into a
directory on the above filesystem.
If I check it out using the SVN CLI client, the checkout takes 4
minutes.
If I use SmartSVN (Java GUI) it takes 22 minutes.
If I delegate the dataset or mount the filesystem directly into the
zonepath from the Global Zone, SmartSVN takes the same amount of time
as the CLI.

Any ideas?

Hi Yonah,
yes we encountered the same performance issue and to us the loop-back
device driver seems to show a very poor performance. In an opensolaris
forum I posted the issue already and some guys from Sun noticed the
problem. I'm not sure if they are working on it or not. Maybe you
should open a service request on this.

Regards
André
