From: Yonah Russ on 25 Feb 2010 13:19 Hi, Here is the situation- Solaris 10u6 ZFS filesystem mounted RW in the global zone, LOFS mounted RO into Zone A, LOFS mounted RW into Zone B In Zone B, I'm trying to checkout a project with ~5000 files into a directory on the above filesystem. If I check it out using the SVN CLI client, the checkout takes 4 minutes. If I use SmartSVN (Java GUI) it takes 22 minutes. If I delegate the dataset or mount the filesystem directly into the zonepath from the Global Zone, SmartSVN takes the same amount of time as the CLI. Any ideas?
From: andre.boegelsack on 26 Feb 2010 04:35 Hi Yonah, yes we encountered the same performance issue and to us the loop-back device driver seems to show a very poor performance. In an opensolaris forum I posted the issue already and some guys from Sun noticed the problem. I'm not sure if they are working on it or not. Maybe you should open a service request on this. Regards André
