From: Mariann on 29 May 2010 13:04 Hello, Word Gurus! I have a question regarding List Styles in Word. I created my numbering and linked Heading styles 1 - 9 with all nine levels in my list. I named and saved the new style and started list in new document. Although I linked my heading styles to each level, Word does not recognize when I try to use in my Table of Contents. Does anyone know how Word 2007 see's these linked styles and how do I get it to recognize for my TOC? Thanks So MUCH!

It seems that when saving the list style to the template, it looses its memory and forgets it has linked heading styles. Will the linked styles not save with List Styles? > > Thanks So MUCH!
From: Stefan Blom on 29 May 2010 13:57 By default, when you insert a table of contents in Word, the first three heading levels will be included. Or are you saying that none of your headings show up in the TOC? -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP (Message posted via NNTP) "Mariann" <Mariann(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5A9DC5ED-0732-41DF-8CCE-3ABD9B37B09A(a)microsoft.com... > Hello, Word Gurus! From: Pamelia Caswell via OfficeKB.com on 29 May 2010 14:39 Are you saying that your headings aren't numbered? Mariann wrote: >> Hello, Word Gurus! I have a question regarding List Styles in Word. From: Mariann on 29 May 2010 15:00 I created a list style and linked each level of numbering to heading levels 1-9 then saved the list style to the normal.dot. When I try to use the list from a new document, the heading styles are no longer a part of the list style. They disappear - don't seem to be saved with the list style. The links disappear when I go to a new document and use the list style. :( So I can't get the TOC to work since it's no longer associated with the headings. (Didn't realize that was what was happening when I first posted.) "Mariann" wrote: > > > "Mariann" wrote: > > > Hello, Word Gurus! I have a question regarding List Styles in Word.
