From: CJB on 14 Mar 2010 16:42 Both of these are advertising free minutes and texts for same network calling. However in some forums customers are complaining that there are hidden charges such as connection fees of 15p that are charged every time a same network call is made. And apparently Lycamobile Plus (on O2) wont allow you to port an old number to them. Both Lyca and Lebara are heavily pushing their services, yet when I have asked the sales reps. about hidden connection charges, not allowing porting, problems with contacting cs staff, etc., they deny that there are any problems at all. Folk on the forums are also reporting very rude customer service staff that can't speak or understand English and who cut you off if an issue is at all contentious. We have to say that Giffgaff is amazing though - with a great service from the cs and technical staff. And we've heard that Asda call centre staff - based in the UK - are also very helpful indeed. As I read it, if you top up with £20, you get £40 credit. As the minutes and texts tariff is 5p that makes the effective cost 2.5p for a minute or a text. I didn't see the catch! They then charge more for calls that are made using the 'free' credit. More smoke and mirrors!! -- Please remove 'no_spam_' from email address. For heavy PAYG the best to look at are: GiffGaff, Lycamoble, Asda, Tesco. Although if you are credit worthy enough for Giff Gaff you might as well look for a cheap contract Steve Terry -- Get a free Three 3pay Sim with 2 bonus after 10 top up http://freeagent.three.co.uk/stand/view/id/5276
