I know it is available as a Simulink demo. I was looking for a more realistic physical model that could be used to study the system in more depth. > There is an electromagnet, a hollow iron ball, a light source and a light sensor plus an analog controller made of opamps implementing a lead controller. So it is a combination of a mechanica/magnetic/electrical system. I have never used Simscape, but I wanted to try it if it is capable of doing this. Thanks Magnetic blocks were added to the Simscape foundation library in R2010a, so yes, it should be doable, although I haven't tried it. Arnaud
