Each of the recipients are in my Address Book and the Mail preference "Viewing > Use Smart Addresses" is checked, this option intended to have the addresses in an email display only the name, that being if the name is already in the Address Book. -- James Leo Ryan --- Austin, Texas --- taliesinsoft(a)me.com

Just to be clear - are the addresses that are displayed with the names the same as the addresses associated with those names in your address book? If so, are there any other email addresses also associated with those names? -- Sara Hurrah - the weather has cheered up

Notice that when you click the little arrow for people whose name is displayed without the address to get the little pop-up menu, one of the available menu commands is "Open in Address Book". If you view the pop-up menu for names that show the addresses, notice that menu command now says "Add to Address Book". The reason Mail is showing the address is because it doesn't have that address in the address book. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. You realize that none of this matters to the recipients of your emails, right? Depending on their email client, they will see all addresses regardless of how they display on your end. If you examine the source of the received message, you'll see that the names and addresses are all included in the To line. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me.
