From: Peter Ceresole on 2 Jun 2010 12:56 At the end of the last episode of 'Ashes to Ashes', as Gene Hunt returns to his office in purgatory and looks over the Mercedes 190D catalogue (the Quattro has passed Beyond) the new dead copper comes storming in, as they all have, shouting 'Where's my office?' and the year is set up as he shouts 'Give me back my iPhone'. So there it is; Steve defines the times. -- Peter

These are smart cookies, and they've left themselves any number of possibilities. However they're smart enough not to follow them up. -- Peter

Three posibilities spring to mind - One: continue the series with the new guy, but make it _slightly_ more obviously supernatural now that the cat's out of the bag, so to speak. Two: make a one-off Christmas special in which Gene himself finally gets to go to the pub. Three: leave us all wanting more. I favor the third option. They've done teh 70s, 80s... if they jump straight to 2008 or so. personaly I'd like to see the characters go forward 30 years rather than back 10..20..30 years this time. |
