There's an even easier way that does not require Terminal nor any twiddling with permissions. To move files from user account A to account B, log in to A's account, and move the files to /Users/A/Public. Then log in as B. Navigate with Finder to /Users/A/Public. Drag the files to the Desktop. This will create new copies of them; and B will have full read/write permission. Then put the files away in an appropriate place in B's home folder. Ant, if you want to create a shared folder so that two accounts can share the same iTunes library, follow this hint. It is for iPhoto but works just dandily with iTunes too: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050904072808460&lsrc=osxh -- K. Lang may your lum reek.

Works for me, as long as iTunes likes it. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than to me, as E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my very hungry SPAM filter. Due to Google's refusal to prevent spammers from posting messages through their servers, I often ignore posts from Google Groups. Use a real news client if you want me to see your posts. JR |
