But when I opened the box, the power supply does NOT have that black "Warranty voidded if opened" sticker, which was present in the unit that exploded. It might be sulfuric acid because that's often used in electrolytic capacitors. However a study done a few years ago: www.dfrsolutions.com/pdfs/2004_Electrolyte_Hillman-Helmold.pdf said some Taiwanese caps had pH levels > 7 while the Japanese caps they tested measured ~4: I wouldn't touch any of the fluid. Maybe you can talk Antec into paying for return shipping if you complain about the spilt fluid and the costs of decontaminating your home to make it safe again for your children, your dear, dear children. ;) What brand is the bad cap -- Ltec, Fuhjyyu, OST, or CapXon? Considering that fluid came out, I suspect it's one of the big high voltage caps. I now feel better about replacing all the caps in my Antecs with Nichicons and Sanyos.

It go a warranty sticker in it so I could not open it. The unit had now been replaced by a new one by Antec's Hong Kong distributor. Interestingly, the new one does NOT have a sticker! > I now feel better about replacing all the caps in my Antecs with > Nichicons and Sanyos.
