Baloney. No .NET Framework version supersedes another. They are all

Newer .net framework versions don't replace older ones. If you want to
run a program that needs an older one, you need it. If you don't, you
don't need it.

Now why did you omit the error message you included in your "Me, too!" reply
to someone else's thread? It was very important:

> The following updates were not installed:

> 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and
> Windows Server 2008 R2 (KB953297)

But in this thread you tell us that "[.NET Framework] 1.1 sp1...won't
install." Big difference!

Wanna bet? And what version of .NET Framework does WinXP depend upon?

Do I need still need older versions of the .NET Framework on my system after
installing .NET Framework 3.5 SP1?

You haven't used .net Net Framework Version 3.5 SP1. It contains
everything from SP2 onwards.

Check your facts Mr Pig!
