From: rknapke on 27 Jun 2006 09:31 I have a W2K3 server running TS. I have one computer who's printer will not map through to the server. The computer is W2K Pro using a HP LJ1100 printer (Parallel not USB). The computer used to be able to connect just fine and print. Now when she tries to connect it won't map the printer. In the event log, i get the following error: Event ID: 1112 Source: TermServDevices Failed to register for user printing preferences change notification. Open the Services snap-in and confirm that the Printer Spooler service is running. All other users are working properly, and i double checked the spooler service was running. I even restarted the services to make sure it was responding. The server has the 1100 driver installed. I even installed an 1100 printer to my LPT1 port and then connected to the server. My dummy printer was mapped through with no problem. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I haven't found much on KB or Google. Thanks Rich
From: Tad Brockway (MS) on 11 Jul 2006 14:17 You should log out the user and log him/her back in. That should reset the state of the user printing preferences change notification, which occurs on a per-session basis. If that does not fix it, you should look for additional events in the system event log with the TermServDevices source and contact PSS. -- -This e-mail is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights- Tad Brockway Group Program Manager Terminal Services Team Microsoft "rknapke" <rknapke(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A59DD2D8-B79B-4217-9483-0E345608D6E2(a)microsoft.com... >I have a W2K3 server running TS.
