What's your favorite free cd or DVD burning app?

Thanks,

Steve

For what purpose? Extract? Copy? Image? It depends on what I'm doing as to
which one I use. For simple images I usually use ImgBurn. If they need to
be re-authored I use DVD Shrink to make the image and burn the DVD with
ImgBurn. To extract CD sound tracks and convert them to mp3 I use iTunes.
I use Roxio only to re-assemble mpg files to Video DVD or mp3 or wav files
to audio CD of DVD. Most of the rest I do with the freebies.

I haven't installed it on any of my Windows 7 machines and don't niss it
at all - terribly bloated these days and I'm sure affects the overall
performance. I use the free ImgBurn program by the author of DVDDecrypt.
Looks a bit geeky but haven't had any problems with it.

Can't say I've experienced all of the issues mentioned but I did
un-install Nero 9 and re-install version 8. Reason was that the Wave
Editor was stopping playback exactly one second from the end of a file.
When you are topping and tailing tracks from a complete concert
recording, a lot can happen in that last second.

Having custom installed Nero leaving out a lot of its content, the
question is what to replace it with. Running Vista 64 and Sonar 64 bit,
I normally mix and master a full classical music concert in Sonar, top
and tail it into tracks in Nero Wave Editor and burn it to CD with Nero
Burning ROM. The rest of Nero's apps are bloat to me. Suggestions for
a better method are welcome.

Regards,

Alan.

I was checking cdfreaks to see if people were having the same problem
with installation. Same problems there.

Nero 7 is working for me in W7x64.

Too bad they don't sell the burning engine separately.
