From: Geoff Schaller on 6 Oct 2009 03:51 Hi Folks, In the WED, select any control, go to the General Tab and choose "Inherit from Class" The drop down shows you all classes everywhere in the app - the drop down is huge. How is it that all you VOPS folks who claim to have been using this stably for months now didn't pick this up or complain about it. Whilst it isn't a show stopper it is certainly a huge inconvenience. For anyone who works constantly in the WED I would suggest they consider not upgrading to SP3 until this and the other 3 reported and confirmed bugs are repaired. Brian, will we be getting a fix-patch for SP3 or are we going to wait 12 months and be asked to pay for it?
From: E®!k /!sser on 6 Oct 2009 04:30 Hi Geoff, That must be a very annoying! I cannot reproduce it however, this seems to work fine for me. From: Geoff Schaller on 6 Oct 2009 04:49 I've tried it on 4 machines here and they all behave the same. Badly <g>. The OS version shouldn't and can't have any effect on such things but these systems are all XP and Vista although only two are ever used in actual production. I just wanted to see if the problem was reproducible and it was. So you are saying that when you click on it for a button, only button classes show, for example? If that is the case then I wonder if the Upgrade install messes with the inf or tpl files but I can't see any evidence of this. I will try on my notebook later, but on my desktop it seems to works fine. > The OS version shouldn't and can't have any effect on such things I would thought so too, but if one has an issue and another doesnt', we mightwanna look at the differences. So I also tried on both a VSS connected project and a standalone one, both this works fine. > but these systems are all XP and Vista although only two are ever used in > actual production. Yep, and SLE's only give SLE etc. Works like it should. > > If that is the case then I wonder if the Upgrade install messes with the > inf or tpl files but I can't see any evidence of this. For the record, I have updated my production-folder. I did not create a new VO installation with the update. Erik
