From: DoubleJava on 22 Dec 2009 19:15 When I attempt an RDP connection from my Win7 Pro x64 workstation to our Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 x86 server (running in TS Application Mode), the background of the server's logon screen comes up, but only an outline of the logon dialog box is displayed. Further, typing: username, TAB, password, Enter does nothing, so it appears to be more than a simple graphical rendering issue. If I attempt the RDP connection from another machine (i.e. Windows Server 2003 SP2), it works fine. I don't appear to have issues connecting to any other machines via RDP from my Win7 box. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
From: Bob Campbell on 6 Jan 2010 10:29 Hmmm. Interesting. I assume you have rebooted your server. I'd suggest doing some different options in your RDC session, before connecting, like changing the screen size or color depth. The server (registry) remembers your RDC 6.1 session prior to using Win7, so I suspect there's something in the new RDC 7.0 that comes with Win7 that could be the cause. I'm thinking if you change some settings it will "fix" the problem. (I know it's a bit wild--but that's the best I can do).
