Any clues from those who've ported to Voda how to go about it?

At 15p or 20p per min for the first 3 mins, you'd probably be better off
with
another deal, e.g. Asda mobile is also on Voda

I've ported from 3 and ASDA to VF. The most difficult thing was getting
the PAC from 3 <GRIN>. For both I then rang VF on their free 0808 number
& gave them the PAC code & they sorted it all out. For the ex-3 one I
had a spare unactivated PAYG SIM from VF (one of their 4 packs) so they
just activated it with the new number. I had to kill the 3 contract & I
don't want the number so paying VF 10 to activate the SIM was worth
it! The ex-ASDA one went to a 30-day contract (I only wanted the
passport feature for a trip to Oz) & they had to send a SIM. The
latter has now been ported out to giffgaff (really O2) as I really
wanted to keep the number & that went smoothly.

You can port the number over on the VF web site which is what I tried to
do for the ex-ASDA PAC and via quidco. Except it didn't happen. It did
track via quidco but after a few days I had heard nothing from VF & the
Oz trip was looming. So I rang VF & customer service said they didn't
have the online order number on their system & they set it up again.
Which is probably why quidco didn't pay out.

Best Regards...
Ian

You can port to Vodafone pay as you go at any time. For contracts
though, it must be done at the point of purchase (they don't issue
temporary numbers for you to use). If you try and do it later they
won't let you.
