From: Bigjib on 22 Dec 2009 09:50 Somehow I have lost my sound. I have no sound icon & when I go to the control panel the volume tab says no audio device. I have gone to Device Manager & everything appears okay. I even tried to reload the sndvol32.exe file from the Windows XP CD to no avail. Any auggestions?

Reinstall the drivers for the sound card, then make sure the proper device is selected in Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, Audio tab. you might try initiating a system restore point and return the state of the computer back to a functional date. -- db·´¯`·...¸><)))º> DatabaseBen, Retired Professional - Systems Analyst - Database Developer - Accountancy - Veteran of the Armed Forces - @Hotmail.com - nntp Postologist ~ "share the nirvana" - dbZen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > "Bigjib" <Bigjib(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1C9D9495-126B-4F44-8DE4-F14915F4291D(a)microsoft.com... > Somehow I have lost my sound.
