From: Bob Phillips on 11 Dec 2009 19:25 Apologies in advance for the vagueness of this question, but I am hoping that someone gleans enough from my ramblings to know what I am looking for. I don't have enough clarity to google it I am afraid. Some time back I got hold of a sort of note-taking app, which had been recommended here. It was generally endorsed, so I think it is a well-known application. Unfortunately, I hadn't used it in a while, and my laptop went south recently so I have lost all details. As I recall, it allowed building of a hierarchical set of notes, with facilities to enter specials like dates and so on. I would love to find it again if anyone has any clue what I am referring to. TIA Bob
From: Bob Phillips on 12 Dec 2009 18:53 Thanks for that. It looks similar, but does not stir an immediate recollection. I seem to recall a tabbed view, maybe some sort of categorisation within the explorer part.. Is there anything that has that? Its printing is worthless at this point in time. Otherwise, I'm impressed with it. I'm using WordTabs, an old but very thorough plain text utility that can handle a number of simultaneous tabbed windows/files, has spell checker, can work with rich text or ASCII, and delivers almost-perfect printouts. I'm using version 3.30, an "after abandonment" upgrade. I forgot where I got it; I recall that Susan Bugher was involved in nailing this version. Other support on the web is for earlier versions. This is the one to get. I use it for taking notes as well as straight-ahead writing. Richard
From: Bob Phillips on 13 Dec 2009 05:59 KeyNote. That's the one. Thanks enormously, I appreciate your efforts.
