From: db on 20 Nov 2009 09:00 could be a problem with low memory, low virtual memory and or low cpu processing power. ---------------- if excel opens fine with the default blank spreadsheet but the spread sheet with the data crashes then it might be a problem with the link or low memory. my suggestion is to disable all your non microsoft startups and non microsoft services with a procedure call clean boot. this will free up memory and cpu power. ------------------ you can also go into safe mode and try to open up the spread sheets and remove the link(s) and see if your excel stops crashing. -- db·´¯`·...¸><)))º> DatabaseBen, Retired Professional - Systems Analyst - Database Developer - Accountancy - Veteran of the Armed Forces - @Hotmail.com - nntp Postologist ~ "share the nirvana" - dbZen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > "Excel 2003, crash by link worksheets" <Excel2003crashbylinkworksheets(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:CD396204-518C-4696-AB22-D5DA5A46997E(a)microsoft.com... > Hi, I have a problem with Excel 2003. > If I make linking between another worksheets in a workbook or when I try > to > link from other worksheets in formula does application excel.exe to crash. > see sample ( formula in cell > =+':\Document_2009\FII_Financ\2009\PDC\[calculation_pdc_2009.xls]Oct'!$BW$8) > > The error messages on my computer is following: > > Faulting application excel.exe, version 11.0.8316.0, > stamp 4ace3b8f, faulting module excel.exe, version 11.0.8316.0, > stamp 4ace3b8f, ,fDebug: 0, Offset: 001cb5c9 > > (PC DELL OPTIFLEX 170 - Windows XP ver.2002, SP3 Intel Pentium 4, 2,8GHz - > Microsoft Office Excel 2003 11.8316.8221 SP3 (Microsoft Office Standard > Edition 2003) ) > > Why can I do to resolve this problem? > > Thank you for your help. > > Paul > > > > ---------------- > This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the > suggestions with the most votes.
