Personally I use Debian, since I prefer to decide what software is on the
system instead of being led by the nose. And since Debian is the basis of
most ready-to-use distros, if you can do it with Ubuntu you can do it with
Debian, although it might take a bit more head-scratching to get there.

Not that Ubuntu isn't a good system, it is, especially for those who just
want to use a business-oriented Linux computer without doing a lot of
learning. I think if we switched the desktops I'd suggest Ubuntu.
