Just got an email from Paypal suggesting I use a "safer browser", with
download links for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer (poor old Opera
doesn't get a mention, let alone Safari), and also recommending
downloading "Iconix". It takes a lot of clicks and screens before you
finally get to a page that says Windows XP, Vista and 7.

And Iconix think Apple's Mail is a "Webmail Application".
Impressive levels of ignorance.

I have had a Paypal account for >5 years and have used my Firefox

I got this email and have never had a Paypal account so I assumed it was
spam.
