From: LeeG on 4 Jan 2010 05:40 When installing some software the installer stops with the message 'The application has a pending system reboot. Please reboot and restart the installer.' I have performed several soft and hard reboots. I have also followed the solution to delete the 'filerenameoperations' key from the registry. both have not solved the problem. Is there other registry keys I need to look for to stop this error.

Either look in the registry or use msconfig to check the entries under these two keys: \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run See if there are any entries for the software you're installing. As always, make a backup of the registry before doing any manual changes. -- SC Tom

From: LeeG on 4 Jan 2010 10:31 Will this apply even though the error only occurs when the installer is run and not at any other time. I might be wrong but do these not run at startup thus making the error appear at start up? (FYI I am working on a different computer until this is solved and will try your instructions as soon as I can get to the other computer.)
