If you want to post binaries, there are plenty newsgroups where you can
post them (and then use message-id(s) to refer to them). Or you can
upload them to sites like tinypic.com.

Because newsgroups, by convention, were set up to handle those of us on
300bps dial-up and downloading a binary file would take hours.
