When I am printing a 5-day calendar the Subject of the event prints
horizontally which makes it very hard to read. Is there a way I can
make it print so the text is rotated up or vertically (up and down)
instead of horizontally to make the viewing of the information easier
read?

No. See http://slipstick.me/calprint for other options - the word template
does a good job.
