From: Geico Caveman on 1 Apr 2010 12:53 System: Mac Pro running OSX 10.5.6 (yes - I know it is outdated but it works for me, I do not mess with the OS since system stability is paramount for this machine). Problem seen with iWork'09 Pages and Microsoft Word 2008. It is thus not app specific and appears to be system wide. When I try to print to PDF (this happened after I applied a bunch of iLife, iTunes updates etc.), it warns me that I am overwriting an existing file in the folder (after the first failed attempt). However, Finder shows no such file in the folder (neither does an ls -l using Terminal). End result - PDF file is not generated. I have to restart Finder and then restart the app (Pages or Word) to get the PDF to generate (and this does not always work either). The target disk on which the folder is located is a TrueCrypt encrypted disk that is mounted. However, other than the aforementioned updates, nothing (and I repeat - nothing) has been intentionally changed in the system configuration for more than a year. And yes - I do have about 8G of free space on the target disk. Any idea what is going on ?

Another crazy thing I just noticed - when I get to the save dialog and am in the right folder, it shows all the files there with PDF icons (and all the files there are doc files). Something is seriously messed up.

Something is seriously messed > up. Another followup - same thing with the Pages files - the icons are all pdf. Further symptom - the progress bar for save to pdf goes by in a flash (too fast compared to my past experience).
