From: Ginny Caughey on 23 Jan 2010 07:10 Bill, Yes Easy Transfer is the Win 7 name. I also moved the CAVO folder tree to the same drive so there were no path settings to manually change. Perhaps you missed one? -- Ginny Caughey www.wasteworks.com "Bill Tillick" <wtillick(a)gmail.com> wrote in message news:8597c5e6-eb05-4f7d-bbc3-8e653537b9a7(a)v25g2000yqk.googlegroups.com... > Ginny, > That sounded like a good solution. From: Dave Francis on 23 Jan 2010 08:41 Bill, IIRC there's a CA_LIC folder to be copied too and some registry settings. I found that I had to use the new Windows Easy Transfer program, as Files and Settings transfer wizard wasn't available on Windows 7. I have transferred everything from my old CAVO25 directories and manually adjusted the Path as I thought that might cause a problem What happens when I run CAVO25.exe is that the splash screen comes up, then sometimes the program asks for the VO System Settings Paths, but then just hangs with the Win7 circular "wait" cursor showing. Is theer anything else that I need to do, please? Your help much appreciated. From: Ginny Caughey on 23 Jan 2010 09:41 The registry settings should have gotten transferred with Easy Transfer, but it's worth checking. -- Ginny Caughey www.wasteworks.com "Dave Francis" <dave(a)suilven.com> wrote in message news:7s0ck7Fo83U1(a)mid.individual.net... > Bill, > > IIRC there's a CA_LIC folder to be copied too and some registry settings. > > HTH > > Dave Francis > > "Bill Tillick" <wtillick(a)gmail.com> wrote in message > news:8597c5e6-eb05-4f7d-bbc3-8e653537b9a7(a)v25g2000yqk.googlegroups.com... > Ginny, > That sounded like a good solution. Dave, I had copied both CA_LIC and CA_APPSW, thanks. Ginny, I don't know what settings should be in the Registry? Bit it seems as though VO is looking for something somewhere when it goes into what seems to be an endless loop while starting up (see Jan 23 post). Will compare with the old machine's registry later, if I can.
