From: JH on 30 Mar 2008 20:24 Hello, I have a situation where if I log in to my 2003 SP1 TS server as domain admin, I can see the USB HP 1505N redirected printer in the listing. If I print a test page it works then I log off and the printers are deleted with the session. When I log in as a regular user, I see the printer redirected and I go to print a test page and it doesn't get to the printer. It shows in the queue as a job pending but never completes. If I try and cancel the job it will just show deleting so then I try to log off the session and it never completes, it just shows saving settings in the window. For me to get the printing working again, I have to log back in as admin, restart the print spool service then delete the 1505N printer from the last session that was created when logged in as the regular user. I have a 2000 Terminal server that works just fine whether it is an admin or regular user. To add to this, both servers are using the same driver that is installed on the local machine that has the printer installed on it. Please let me know if you have any suggestions, Thanks - JH
From: Vera Noest [MVP] on 31 Mar 2008 09:06 Sounds like a driver which is incompatible with TS. Are you using driver version 61.036.351.00? That's the version of the driver which is tested by HP for use on TS. From: JH on 31 Mar 2008 09:19 I downloaded what was available on the HP site for the 1505. I looked for this driver version and saw no listing for that version. The only version they show is 20070910. "Vera Noest [MVP]" wrote: > Sounds like a driver which is incompatible with TS. > Are you using driver version 61.036.351.00? The only version > they show is 20070910. I have been down this road.... I attempted to get the HP LaserJet P1505 running under Terminal Services (2003). It failed. I talked to the HP Support staff. They acknowledged the failure of the "20070910" driver for the HP LaserJet P1505. They told me the problem is well documented in the HP Support Knowledge Base. The solution they gave us is to install the HP LaserJet 6L driver. I tried the LaserJet 6L driver and could not get it to work. You may want to try it.
From: JH on 31 Mar 2008 12:04 Thanks Douglas, Were you not able to get the printer to work at all? I am able to use it fine for the admins but when a user connect, it doesn't work. I will give this driver a try, Thanks "Douglas Brantley" wrote: > > > I downloaded what was available on the HP site for the 1505.
