Hi I. Kinal,

As I know, there is no different on restoring a database (which is backed
up from SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine) to SQL Server 2005 Express Edition
compared to SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine. You can just refer to the
following articles to back up and restore the database from MSDN to SQL
Server Express:

BACKUP (Transact-SQL)
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms186865.aspx

RESTORE (Transact-SQL)
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms186858.aspx

During the restore process, the upgrade of the database is also performed.

In the meantime, I am so sorry for the wrong link provided in my previous
response. Here is the correct link for your reference.

Install Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 on a stand-alone computer
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Office/en-us/library/6181fe5b-90ca-40cf-aade-a
bd59cf3c9071033.mspx

Please try the steps on the article to install WSS 3.0 and then check the
result. Also, it is recommended that you have a copy of database in case
any potential risks.

Hope this helps!

If anything is unclear, please let me know. I am standing by for your
reply.

Regards,

Ada Pan

Hi,

I tried the workaround of uninstalling WSS 2.0 and then installing WSS 3.0,
but I got the same exact error.

Thanks,
I. Kinal
