From: Osher Doctorow on 7 Jun 2010 02:23 From Osher Doctorow Consider Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation: 1) F_G = Gm1m2/r^2 = Gm1m2 r^(-2) Now ERASE the negative sign (-1 implicitly) in -2, yielding up to a constant: 2) F_S (Strong Interaction) "Candidate" = kr^2, k some constant. Whether (2) is exactly true or not, it does yield asymptotic freedom (F_S = 0 if r = 0 and both are small near r = 0) and increasing F_S with large distance (r --> 1- on a [0, 1] distance scale, for example). These are two key characteristics of the Strong Interaction. We may have to convert to a Probable Causation/Influence (PI) model by converting division to subtraction + 1, or use other conversions, but it is somewhat remarkable that one ERASURE yields a good qualitative model of the Strong Interaction from Newtonian Gravitation.
