From: Ian McCall on 28 Dec 2009 14:45 Am trying to use Quicktime Player X* for sharing a video using MobileMe. Mobile Me is fully accessible and I'm able to access iDisk without trouble. Quicktime Player, however, doesn't seem to want to play. It exports fine, then goes to 'Publishing...', then says 'The request timed out'. Which is nonsense, since I've copied the file by hand without trouble. Any tricks to get this to work? Any way of diagnosing if it's even logging in correctly? Cheers, Ian (*or Quicktime Player Turkey Edition as I'm starting to think of it...)

It's all GUI and no trousers, that's the thing. I'm consciously trying to use it rather than Quicktime Player 7, since I realise that the new way is The Future. However the two operations I'm trying to use it for - trimming and sharing - both failed. It's not impressed me much so far. Cheers, Ian

All I noticed was Little Snitch popping up as QTPX started to upload to Mobile Me following a period of processing. Have you got the Export Progress window visible? Stuart -- cut that out to reply

Ah - interesting. It's not popping up for me, but turning off Little Snitch has let things go through. Any idea what port it's going for? Would you mind looking at your Little Snitch rules to see what's been added? Cheers, Ian
