From: abi on 6 Jul 2006 11:11 When I try to install windows xp sp2 on a virtual pc by using ris (bootdisk created by Rbfg.exe) everything seems to be fine. I can login, select a image and the text setup starts. But during the text setup I get a "blue" screen, which says that the network start failed *** STOP: 0x000000BB (0x00000002, 0xC00000FB, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) This RIS server (Windows 2003 SP1) works and "real" clients can be installed without problems. I hope somebody can help me...
From: Robert Comer on 6 Jul 2006 11:47 That error means there was a DHCP problem, as in duplicate IP addresses. Maybe because of duplicate NIC id's for the VM's maybe. -- Bob Comer <Microsoft MVP Windows - Virtual Machine> "abi" <abi(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:63461904-5030-4E5A-BE63-033B636E8986(a)microsoft.com... > When I try to install windows xp sp2 on a virtual pc by using ris > (bootdisk > created by Rbfg.exe) everything seems to be fine. From: abi on 6 Jul 2006 11:59 Hallo Bob, Do you mean the NIC ID definied in the vmc file? I have two virtual PCs running on my machine at the same time. Both vmc files have the identical lines:
ABI "Robert Comer" wrote: > That error means there was a DHCP problem, as in duplicate IP addresses. > Maybe because of duplicate NIC id's for the VM's maybe. > > -- > Bob Comer <Microsoft MVP Windows - Virtual Machine> > > > > "abi" <abi(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:63461904-5030-4E5A-BE63-033B636E8986(a)microsoft.com... > > When I try to install windows xp sp2 on a virtual pc by using ris > > (bootdisk > > created by Rbfg.exe) everything seems to be fine. From: abi on 6 Jul 2006 13:05 The mac adresses are unique and when I run only one of my virtual machine the problem remains. Have you ever seen a virutal pc installing windows xp sp2 by ris? Perhaps it is a bug in windows xp sp2. When i remember right, I installed windows xp sp1 successfully by ris on my virtual pc in the past.
