Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had experience using RSAT on Windows 7 when using
a client computer that is not part of the domain.

The problem is that my company has their own 2003 domain, and when I want to
connect to a client's domain on site with my domain computer, I can't with
RSAT. I try the "run as different user command" to open tools such as Group
Policy Management, and AD Users and Computers, and usually get the error :

"The security database on the server does not have a computer account for
this workstation trust relationship."

Any help is appreciated.

Bill

Hello Bill,

If you like to open AD UC of another domain you can do it with the following
commands:

runas /netonly /user:domain\userid "mmc dsa.msc /server=dc.in.other.domain"

runas /netonly /user:domain\userid "mmc dsa.msc /server=ipaddress"

Of course a user account with the correct permission from the remote domain
is needed.

Best regards
