My present view on this is that whatever you are talking about has to be studied by most if not all of the "audience" AND a major consensus of _acceptance_ must form. Not all experimental evidence is valid. For examples: cold fusion (decade+ ago) and polywater (4-5 decades ago). There was evidence in both cases, later shown in more careful work to be artifactual. When/if there is a minority dissenting opinion on "whatever" it must be carefully examined, interpreted, and evaluated. Such opinions may not be justified, but must be taken into consideration and remembered for historical reasons. And, I'm open for further discussion on this.
