From: ted on 12 Dec 2005 11:19 We are expencing sporatic delays in email delivery from an external source. They are getting the following response back after sending the email. This doesn't happen everytime and I am trying to figure out why they are getting this message. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. We are running SBS 2003 with SP1 on two nic cards with a ISA 2004 on the server. Our router is in bridge mode. We are running a spam filter on the server but the senders email address is on the safe list. -----Original Message----- From: XXXX, XXXX [mailto:xyz(a)xyz.org] Sent: Friday, December 09, 2005 8:52 AM To: XXXXX Subject: FW: Warning: message has not yet been delivered -----Original Message----- From: Mail Delivery System [mailto:MAILER-DAEMON(a)xyz.org] Sent: Friday, December 09, 2005 8:24 AM To: XXXX, XXXX Subject: Warning: message has not yet been delivered This is an automated message created by mail delivery software. From: "Charles Yang [MSFT]" on 12 Dec 2005 22:07 HI Ted, Welcome to SBS newsgroup. Issue description: ============ I understand that you encountered email sending delay when you sending the internet emails. Analyzing and suggestion: ============= Generally speaking, the issue should be caused by many factors, let us first isolate on SBS side to see if we can do any thing on the SBS side. 1. As the issue did not occur on all the internet emails, we may consider the SBS is set correctly, in order to track the special internet email, we suggest using message tracking on this special message to see if it is sending out to the internet. You can enable the message tracking according to KB article below: 246856 How to enable message tracking in Exchange 2000 Server and in Exchange http://support.microsoft.com/?id=246856 2. If the email is sending out after using the method above, the issue should existing on the remote mail server, you may have to check if the remote server is work properly or not. 3. Please also ask your ISP to help you check if there are some special settings for delay sending email to special email domain, for example you can check if you have deployed any filter on the ISP side to filtering email to special domain or for special content. 4. Internet connection on the remote mail server could also cause this issue. Please note that if the issue occur on special external email domain, it is your best interest to focus on the remote mail server and your ISP. We have no such control on SBS to control this issue. Thanks for your understanding on this issue, please feel free to post back the results. I am glad to be of assistance.
