David, I was just asking if WSS 3.0 is installed on the server that you try to reinstall WSUS 3.0. The reason I'm asking is that both of these services use the Windows internal database. I have seen the first error you get in the log about "The system language ENG is not supported". I wrote about how to correct that error in my blog last August http://costas.cpstechgroup.com/index.php/2007/07/16/microsoftsharepointspexception-was-thrown-the-language-is-not-supported-on-the-server/ I'm not sure if these two are related though.
