Is there any update on this bug? I'm having the same issue:
I have PowerBook G4 with RDC v.2.0.0
and I'm trying to connect to Windows 7 Ultimate (PC-based) machine
I can connect and do pretty much anything possible with the mouse/touchpad.
But any key pressed (control/alt/MAC/0-9/a-A-z-Z) leads to immidiate drop of
the remote desktop connection.

Little update:
1. I didn't mentioned my MAC OS version - it is 10.5.7
2. I tried 3 RDC clients provided by Microsoft:
a. RDC 2.0.0 and 2.0.1 do have this issue.
b. Surprisingly, but 1.0.3 version doesn't have this problem, at least
in my combination.

So, if you are looking for at least some kind of immediate solution - you
can use RDC 1.0.3. There is a download link at the bottom of this page:
