From: Theo on 19 Dec 2006 14:42 If it bothers, then uninstall the SP2 Beta. You won't have that when SP2 is released and it is installed on a fully licensed version of Win x64. The version you are dealing with is a Trial version or a Time Limited version for testing purposes only. The same thing was there during the Beta versions of Win x64 and I don't recall anyone ever getting rid of it. ramesh_pilani4 wrote: > hi everyone, > > I have little problem, I want to remove Windows Version watermark from > desktop. > > I m using Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 2 v2825 > > the watermark looks like > > Windows XP Professional x64 Edition > > Evaluation copy. From: Tony Sperling on 19 Dec 2006 22:11 There is actually an option somewhere to turn it off, my machine is down at the moment, so can't dig it out for you - I think it may be somewhere around where you can chose to display the XP Welcome screen OR the classic desktop??? From: Theo on 20 Dec 2006 07:08 It doesn't seem to make any difference which desktop I select, it's always there on my installation of the same OS. From: Tony Sperling on 20 Dec 2006 07:18 Yes, it's not an actual feature of either of those two, as I remember there is a checkbox to mark somewhere - I have a feeling it was somewhere connected with these options but It may just have been the next thing I did after rumaging around there. When I'm up and running again I shall check. Tony. . .
