desktop.

I m using Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 2 v2825

the watermark looks like

Windows XP Professional x64 Edition

Evaluation copy. Build 3790 (Service Pack 2, v.2825)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

PaintDesktopVersion reg tweak don't working.

any idea or special reg hack to remove this really appriciated.

If it bothers, then uninstall the SP2 Beta. You won't have
that when SP2 is released and it is installed on a fully
licensed version of Win x64. The version you are dealing
with is a Trial version or a Time Limited version for
testing purposes only.

The same thing was there during the Beta versions of Win x64
and I don't recall anyone ever getting rid of it.

There is actually an option somewhere to turn it off, my machine is down at
the moment, so can't dig it out for you - I think it may be somewhere around
where you can chose to display the XP Welcome screen OR the classic
desktop???

It doesn't seem to make any difference which desktop I
select, it's always there on my installation of the same OS.

Yes, it's not an actual feature of either of those two, as I remember there
is a checkbox to mark somewhere - I have a feeling it was somewhere
connected with these options but It may just have been the next thing I did
after rumaging around there.

When I'm up and running again I shall check.
