From: GoingCrazy! on 26 Dec 2006 15:24 I purchased XP Pro x64 and installed it on my AMD 4800 system a couple of months ago, however the system has become so unstable that it just crashes without indication or reason... just sitting idle it will crash and reboot it's self. I have downloaded and installed all new AMD drivers to no avail! Has anyone else experiences this and if so how do I fix this OS? P.S> computers works flawless on a LINUX OS!
From: John Barnes on 26 Dec 2006 16:10 Suggest you go into System Properties / Advanced /Startup and turn off automatic restart so you can get the error code you are receiving. Post back with the codes and messages and someone will try to help. From: Charlie Russel - MVP on 26 Dec 2006 19:42 As John suggests, we need some error codes to know where the problem is. My guess is a hardware problem, since folks here are running XP x64 every day, and have been for over a year and a half, and the reports are that it is extremely stable. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/xperts64 "GoingCrazy!" <GoingCrazy!@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:886290CA-3988-442F-A880-E3023CF11E12(a)microsoft.com... >I purchased XP Pro x64 and installed it on my AMD 4800 system a couple of > months ago, however the system has become so unstable that it just crashes > without indication or reason... just sitting idle it will crash and reboot > it's self.
