Hi,

When I created a project schedule, the resource usage of certain resouces is
more than 200%. Is it possible to view the tasks allocated for a particular
resource alone in the gant chart areas to identify what tasks result in
overallocation?

What techniques I can use to remove overallocation other than resource
levelling.

Thanks!

Hi Maanu,

To the first question: When viewing the Gantt Chart, activate filter
selection (behind the text "All Tasks") and use filter "Using Resource"

To your second question, and independently from MS project, I see three ways
to remove overallocations:

1. On some tasks, replace the resource by an other one. Generally yoiu don't
have one available from the shelf :-) But if you have, a nice way to do it
on Project is to use the Assign Resoruces window, then click Replace.

2. Decrease the units for the resource on some tasks, thus stretching the
duration of those tasks. For a lot of reasons, too long to be discussed
here, I dislike this solution.

3. Do what Leveling does for you - delay some tasks that create an
overallcation.

Hope this helps,

Maanu,

Build a "combined" view : View / More Views... / New...
Type of view : Combination view, OK
Top: Resource Graphe
Bottom: Gantt Chart
the bottom view (Gantt chart) will only display the tasks on which the
resource (selected in the Resource Graphe) is assigned to.
