From: Db on 23 Jun 2010 15:57 you seemed to be hysterical over rootkits. if your that worried about it/them then try installing and using rookit software that will reveal them and let you delete them. -- -- db`...><)))> DatabaseBen, Retired Professional ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This NNTP newsgroup is evolving to: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx "pjp" <pjp_is_located(a)somewhere.com> wrote in message news:#VhJCXoELHA.1996(a)TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > Every test seems to indicate I do not have one but as it looks like I'll > have to redo system anyway to change from a "no good" VLK key to a valid > one (none of the tools will touch it argh!!!) From: pjp on 23 Jun 2010 20:35 Hysterical, hardly. Just want to insure I start with a clean slate although on some level I don't really give a f&%k what's running on system so long as it's stable and reasonably fast as "this" pc is not the one I use for personal stuff, a.g. it's a copying, ripping, burning, media playing, gaming system. From: Db on 23 Jun 2010 18:03 I think I used a rootkit program a while back. it showed I had a couple of rootkits by they were only from microsoft. so even installing the o.s., you will still have a couple of rootkits. I think the key is to know which ones, because even if you reinstall the o.s. you might make the same mistakes and re- install them. -- -- db`...><)))> DatabaseBen, Retired Professional ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This NNTP newsgroup is evolving to: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx "pjp" <pjp_is_located(a)somewhere.com> wrote in message news:ugWWqQxELHA.1316(a)TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Hysterical, hardly. From: John John - MVP on 23 Jun 2010 19:47 More utter nonsense. Go find out what rootkits are before you post more of your silly notions! I think you are trying to impress all with your not-so-great knowledge of computers. Blowing one's own trumpet, so to speak. :-)
