From: Cliff Galiher - MVP on 2 Feb 2010 18:04 Wow. Old thread, and somewhat mangled at that. But here is my take: SBS 2003 R2 was *not* built in Windows Server 2003 R2. It was built on Windows Server 2003. So features that were in WS2003 R2 did not make it into SBS 2003 R2; DFS-R for example. In short? I would not hold off on an upgrade with the *hope* of R2 having what I want. Buy SBS 2008, get software assurance if you have that concern, and upgrade to R2 if/when it is released *and* it has a compelling feature you want. But it is not worth delaying an upgrade for vapor product with hopes and dreams when SBS 2008 offers real benefits in the here and now. -Cliff "Mike Lemons" wrote in message news:201022174138mike(a)techoncalllv.com... > Susan: > > What about DirectAccess as a benefit of adding R2 to SBS 2008? > > > > kj [SBS MVP] wrote: > > Re: SBS 2008 R2 date? > 20-Feb-09 > > Susan Bradley wrote: > > > > Still working on it, but admittedly the list shortens a bit until a full > 2K8R2 is in place, and SBS would be only a subset.
