From: Nick Naym on 1 May 2010 18:18 Not sure if this has happened before...I just noticed it: Periodically, I reset safari, but I purposely don't check off several boxes, including the "Clear the Downloads window." This time, however, after the reset, the Downloads window was indeed empty. I double-checked my reset selections, and they were indeed what I had intended; I also checked Safari's General prefs, to be sure that the "Remove download list items" choice was "Manually" (it was). Any idea what could've caused the Downloads window to clear itself? -- iMac (27", 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD) OS X (10.6.3)

It's possible Safari has some kind of hard-coded limit that, when reached, will clear the window regardless of settings.
