I just got a photo which is a negative and if one of the apps included
with my Mac can reverse it, I don't know what it is. Is there a method
for accomplishing this with one of the basic Mac apps or do I need to
get Gimp or some other photo editing software. I also have Picaso on my
system and it doesn't seem to have the capability either. Feel free to
correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks,
Tim

Image Tricks might be able to do what you want.

See if the "color invert" does what you need.

Have you tried doing it in /Applications/Preview?:

Tim-

I had a negative photostat of some sheet music and was able to use
GraphicConverter to reverse it. The Invert command was under the
Picture menu in the older version I have.

I couldn't find a way to do it in iPhoto or Aperture.

Preview has the Edit-Invert Selection, but that just unselects the
selection and selects everything else instead!
