I get local mail from my Unix calendars and I can send it and receive it from mail.app, although there really isn't any reason to do so. I just couldn't figure out how to get Drobo S to do it, and I still can't. This mail never actually goes through the peirce-family.com host, which is Web Host 4 Life. It stays on the machine and goes through qpopper and postfix. I wold be the first to say I really don't understand what these two programs are doing, but until now, I was always able to get them to work.

Sounds like you have a lot more learnin' to do, buddy. ; ) -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. I just try to get my personal computer to do what I want, but that is usually more than Apple wants me to do. Unfortunately, I got to OS X via Unix and NEXTSTEP, so I know enough to know I can do more without always knowing the best way to do it.

If you want an easy way to set up a real email server that is fairly reliable, you might have a look at MailServe or Snow Leopard: <http://cutedgesystems.com/software/MailServeSnow/> -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. I will. What I have now works but I can only send local mail locally through it. When I want to send mail off-site I have to use Mail.app and send it via verizon.
