Hello,

We have a SBS 2003 sp1 server with the follow error in the Scheduled Task
Logs:
"ShadowCopyVolume{57a31e73-6cfb-11da-a627-806e6f6e6963}.job" (vssadmin.exe)
2/24/2006 7:00:00 AM ** WARNING **
Invalid working directory..
The specific error is:
0x00000003: The system cannot find the path specified.

The shadow copy appears to complete successfully though. We have recreated
the shadow copy jobs using different destination and source volumes , all
producing the same error log messages.

Please help.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for posting here.

From your post, I understand that when you ran the shadow copy, you receive
the following error message:
"ShadowCopyVolume{57a31e73-6cfb-11da-a627-806e6f6e6963}.job" (vssadmin.exe)
2/24/2006 7:00:00 AM ** WARNING **
Invalid working directory..
The specific error is:
0x00000003: The system cannot find the path specified.
If I am off base, please feel free to let me know.

Based on my experience, the issue could be related to the account used to
accomplish the scheduled task. I would like to suggest the following to
narrow down the issue:
1. Make sure the target objects do exist.

2. Configure the specified scheduled task with the account has enough
permission such as member of Backup Operator.

3. If you use the Shadow Copies of Shared Folders feature uses scheduled
tasks to create shadow copies on a user-defined schedule. Please turn off
the Shadow Copies of Shared Folders feature before you remove a volume.
Please refer the following steps:
1.) Turn off the Shadow Copies of Shared Folders feature.
2.) Open the Task Scheduler, and then remove any remaining shadow copy
tasks. Shadow copy tasks appear similar to "VSSVolumeGUID" or
"ShadowCopyVolumeVolumeGUID".
Note:The name of the scheduled task is the same as the name of the Volume
Shadow Copy service task resource that is associated with the scheduled
task.
3.) Turn on the Shadow Copies of Shared Folders feature.

Please let me know the above information so that I can provide further
assistance on this problem. I am looking forward to your reply.

Have a nice day.

Best Regards,

Steven Zhu
