I am unsuccessfully trying to install 3 Skype software to my SIM Zero on
unlocked SE K810i (originally Orange). K810i is 3G and is listed on the 3
website as compatible with Skype. However when downloading software (from
the link for non 3 mobiles) it does not finish downloading and error
message Download failed comes up. SIM works in other respects in the mobile
OK. Any ideas if there is anything I could try?

I think you'll have to have it reflashed with 3 network firmware

As far as I know 3 sold K800 and K850 but not K810i. so I am not sure if
there is anyone who could actually do this for me.
I shall normally use Skypephone S2 with PAYG SIM. Use of K810i with SIM
Zero is primarily intended as a safety backup - in case I run out of
credit, for example while abroad. In that scenario I cannot use free Skype
anyway and so it will not be a big loss if I cannot have it on K810i.

Why not sell it and get what you really want, a SE K series on 3 with Skype

I know the 3 SE K660i has Skype, but the SE T715 is cheaper

What address are you using for Planet 3? It made a difference when I was
downloading Windows Messenger onto my unbranded SE C902. I got error
messages initilally, changed the Planet 3 home page address and the
download was fine.

Home page is currently set to http://mobile.three.co.uk but to get the
downloads I had to change it. I will see if I can dig out the other address.
