From: Paul Fuchs on 17 May 2010 18:39 OK - I am going to flack for this because I am asking about a Window machine, but I don't feel like hunting out the darkside newsgroups. So here goes. My girlfriend is in Chile and we video Skype a lot. I am living in a house that has rather reliable 1 Mbps DSL. She has been Skyping from a variety of places including malls and various relatives houses. Anyway, we really cannot go more than a minute or so before her video freezes and stays on one frame. The audio is not affected. My video from my MacBook does not freeze on her end. She has a netbook ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-PU17-BK 10.1-Inch Black Netbook 1.66GHz Intel N450 Atom Processor 1GB DDR2 RAM, 1 SODIMM Slot, 2GB Max 250GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) + 500GB Free Web Storage; Chiclet Keyboard; 0.3MP Webcam 10.1-Inch Color-Shine 1024X600 WSVGA LCD Display; 802.11 b/g/n; Bluetooth Enabled Windows 7 Starter Operating System; High Capacity 6 Cell Battery for up to 14 Hours of Battery Life She has the original one GB of RAM. So my question is, what would be the most logical cause for these freeze ups? Low RAM. slow wifi, slow processor, etc.? This machine actually has gotten superlative review on independent sites. I do no the battery seems to last forever. TIA -- During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act. George Orwell
