The interesting part of this whole thing is that I've never initiated a standby or hibernation process...only simple startups and shutdowns. I'm at a loss. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Thank you.

From: Dennis Pack on 24 Feb 2010 19:17 Steven: I know that the silence is disheartening. I haven't replicated your problem and I'm not trying to start another AMD/Intel dispute with what I'm recommending. For testing purposes remove one or two sticks of ram. If the problem is gone the cause is a conflict between the motherboard, bios and processor when all 4 ram slots are populated. Another possibility is if your system came with an AV program and you installed a different AV program without fully removing all of the original program first. First off, I want to thank you for your response, Dennis. AMD/Intel dispute? Huh? Are you running an AMD? My notebook is an Intel-based system. Removing each one of the DIMMs and running the system on each one resulted in no differences...still have the lag at startup and shutdown. In addition, this system did not come pre-installed with an AV solution and it is a clean install of Win7Entx64, with only the basics installed. Any other suggestions out there in never-never land? At this point, I'm ready to give up and move backward as I've experienced no issues running a 32-bit platform. Thanks again. "Dennis Pack" wrote: > Steven: > I know that the silence is disheartening.
