ive had this problem on my Intel Core Duo 2 iMac as well. and ive
watched it suddenly wake up for no apparent reason whatsoever. my MBP
doesnt ever seem to sleep. and ive seen a friend's new iMac simply
refuse to sleep - even when told to.

ive never felt the mac sleep features worked as well as they should.

I routinely watch DVDs on my MBP and it never engages the screen saver
while I'm watching. Some streaming video sites are the same. But other
video streams are vulnerable to screen dimming, etc. I just figure that
the application is doing something different.
