Interesting you should ask. In their next-version notes, they say this
is a new feature, just not in the 2008 version.

Too bad. I would like to turn it off, too.

Format > Paragraph > set Hyphenation to None.

I think it's set on per-document basis, so there's no way to turn it
off by default. :(

One work around is to save the setting to template and start a new
document from that.

Ah, yes. I use the spreadsheet far more than the wordprocessor and
hadn't noticed the automatic hyphenation issue.

I guess you'll have to wait another two years for Softmaker Office
2012 to appear and hope the 2010 version is offered free. :) :) :)

Wondering off the freeware topic... Ashampoo do eventually offer their
stuff at 'giveaway' prices if you register with them and show an
interest.
