A book titled "HP PCL 5 Printer Language Technical Manual" HP P/N 33459-90903 should tell you more than you ever wanted to know. It may be out of print. H-P might be up to PCL 6 or PCL 7 by now. My copy will be pried from my cold dead hands. . . .

Install CUPS, you'll get full support for the printer's features. -- Stefaan A Eeckels -- Life itself is a misery and nobody can tell what can be of it. Those that can tell what can be of it are those who cannot tell us because they are far from us (dead). -- Very profound scam

It was until about 6 weeks ago, when the ethernet connector on it got fried. It still does from a USB cable if I print from my laptop. But I'd like to try to get it to do duplex via USB from the Sun. I'll try the other suggestions - CUPS and the lpadmin command. -- I respectfully request that this message is not archived by companies as unscrupulous as 'Experts Exchange' .
